Elore publishes scholarly articles, reviews, reports and book reviews on research and study in folklore and related fields of cultural studies. The manuscripts of articles or reviews should be submitted to the editor in chief as an email attachment (rtf, doc, docx; not pdf-files). Please check the yearly publication schedule (link here). The manuscripts should be as complete as possible, as the editorial board chooses the texts for peer review (link here) on the strength of this. If you are unsure whether your topic fits the publication profile of Elore, please submit a synopsis or summary of your article to the editor in chief. The synopsis/summary should include a short description of the research questions, their background and relevance, research materials and methods and, possibly, tentative results of the study. Please also submit a short description of the author(s) including the name, degree and affiliation.
The spring issues of Elore are often special issues, and a separate call for papers is published for each special issue. If you are interested in submitting an article to a special issue, please send an approximately 1-page abstract of your article to the subeditor (link here to the editorial board, toimitussihteeri). The editorial board of the special issue makes a preliminary selection of the texts on the strength of the abstracts, but the decision whether the manuscript is sent to peer review is based on the complete article manuscript. Final decisions concerning the publication of the article are made with the help of peer review assessment (link here).
